It's All About Retreats: Girls Retreat

OMG!!! It has been 17 days since I posted something here. I really missed to write every single experience that I passed here but I could not since I had lot of assignments that takes time to finish especially ESL assignment. Let me share what I have done since last two weeks.
On 15 of October, I went to the Girls Retreat with all the girls in my group (CCIP group) who are in Arizona. We went there with our best Project Coordinator, Allison and also Janelle Hoffman, one of our lecturers at Scottsdale Community College. We left on Friday, and it took about 2 hours driving. But before we went to Janelle's cabin, we did hiking near Payson. It was really fun because Tahira (Pakistani), Gamze (Turkish), Nayla (Brazilian) and I tried to catch crayfish on the small river. At the first Tahira and Gamze tried but they did not get any crayfish because they were scared of the fish. Then I cam and tried to catch it, and guess how much I got? I cought about ten crayfish :D LOL!! It reminded me about  my childhood that I spent in Pasokan when I used to catch small fish near the ocean, I really miss it (Wish I can go back to my childhood and play on the river and ocean LOL).

When I got the crayfish, I scared Tahira and Gamze with the Crayfish by holding it and showed them in front of their faces. Gamze and Tahira screamed a lot when I did that, really funny, I should have taken the pictures when they screamed and looked scared. After spending few hours there, we decided to go back and go to Janelle's cabin which was really beautiful place to live in. She has a big cabin with complete properties. I wish I would have that kind of cabin in my future :D LOL. We took all our stuffs from the car to her cabin and made the beds for us. After that we went to see lamas, a cute South American Camelid which almost look like camel. Here is the picture

we spent about 1 hour there, of course we did not forget to take pictures :D

after that we went to the Indian oldest school, I forgot the name. This is my weakness, I am really bad in remembering the name of place. After that we drove back to Janel's house and we curved the pumpkin. It was actually my first pumpkin curving. here is the pict of my pumpkin:

my first curving pumpkin. Isn't it scary? LOL

I like to curve it although it was lil bit difficult to do it. I think it took about 1 hour for me to get done with it because I needed to draw the line of the head, the eyes and the mouth. While Nayla, Tahira Gamze and I curved the pumpkins, Allison helped Janel to made pasta and by the time we were done with pumpkins, the pasta was ready on the table. I catually had never eaten pasta before, because I did not like it, but that time I ate it and it was not that bad :) it was just like eating Indomie, the different is Indomie is smaller than Pasta noodles and Indomie is of course more delicious for me LOL. We were done with dinner around 9 PM then we played a game which is called What Were You Thinking? the game was not about who answer correctly but it was about to see whether we think the same or imagine the same as other players think. It was really fun. We played two games actually that night, another game was Pakistani Games which Tahira introduced to us few months ago. We played with forks and cards. Basically, there will be 4 same cards that a person will get, and she or he gets the same four cards, for example 4 queen cards, the person should take a fork silently and calmly, and after that other players will take the forkss or spoon and of course one person will get nothing because the spoons or the forks that we use to play should be one less than the players. That is one of my favorite games. Around 10, I took shower and tried to do my homework from ESL class (it was a difficult time for me and my friends). Then I slept around 12.30 AM and had to wake up at 8 because we planned to leave Janel's cabin around 10 AM. In the morning, we woke up around 8 and we headed back to Scottsdale (the city where I live) around 10 and on our way back home, we had delicious breakfast at the restaurant. Janel treated us. She is really amazing and kind woman, I am really so excited for the next semester subjects that I will take because she will be my professor in those two classes; Marketing and Hotel Industry, YAY!!!

Anyway, that is my story that I had in the Girls Retreat.
Now I feel so tired, I have to get rest before starting my assignments.

Love,
Nur
