Hola
me amigos,
How
are you?
Well
here I am perfectly fine, just exhausted because had a loooong day hehe . . .
But
I love my day. Everyday I always have a great experience in here. Today I went
to the Paz de Cristo. I had a volunteer there. It is actually a volunteer with
my friends (as the group). One of the requirements of the scholarship that I
have now is to volunteer maximum 100 hours. I actually have done about 20
hours.
The volunteer at Paz de Cristo was great because we prepared and served food for the homeless people. I know, you guys (my indonesian friends) might think that there is no homeless in here (US) since US is a rich country. I also used to think like that, in fact there are homeless here. I found out about it from my Project Coordinator, Allison and from my volunteer experience. The people become homeless because they loose their job, their house or they do not have any job at all. It is really sad. The first time I went to Paz de Cristo, a month ago, I cried while serving the food because I could not see the homeless. I know I am too sensitive, and when I saw them standing in line, my tears were dropped from my eyes. So sad. But today I did not cry . . may be because I am adjusted to see the condition.

I
feel so great to help people who need my help in any condition. I actually had
not done volunteer before I came here to the States but when I started my first
volunteer, I love every single volunteer experience that I have done. I love to
give something for the community and I am so thankful that I have this project
in my scholarship. For me, it does not matter how many hours I have done for my
volunteer, the matter is what kind of help or what kind of distribution I have
given to the community or the people who need my help.
I
wish I had this experience before and I also hope that if I will go back to
Indonesia, I will have the same activities there.
Anyway,
Gotta sleep (again) hehe because it is almost 12 AM and tomorrow Juan and I
will have another volunteer with the Welcome to American Project, so need to
wake up at 5 AM because we will be picked up at 6.30 AM which is really
early for us :D
So,
see you soon with another experience and story :)
Buenas
Noches
Love you
Love you
